Gibbston Valley offer a truely unique winery tour, where you will see the winemakers in action and experience wine tasting inside the largest wine cave in New Zealand.

Innovation requires bravery, and Gibbston Valley knows this well.

In 1983 when winery founder Alan Brady planted his first vines in Central Otago’s southern soils many “experts” had their doubts, but Alan proved them wrong!

Now after three decades and countless medals later, Central Otago is considered one of the world’s best wine regions, with a history of bravery.

Come and discover for yourself just why so many people now love Gibbston Valley and their Central Otogo wines.

Our relaxed and informative tours will take about 45mins to take a guided look around our beautiful winery, all while savouring four of our wonderful wines.

Super impressed

We had a really nice time doing the winery tour our guide was very good at what he does. I think this tour was great value for money so am happy to give it 5 stars. I think its a good tour for both people who know very little about wine and also those who know a bit more. The wine cave is impressive and there is plenty of time for questions you may have. The overall tour exceeded my expectations. After the tour we stayed there and had a beautiful lunch which was most enjoyable.

A really good one ❤️

This was not part of our itinerary but on our way back from Milford Sound, out driver and tour guide mentioned about this tour so I checked it out and booked. We were surprised as we enjoyed it a lot! We’ve been to a lot of wine tasting but this wine tour is truly informative being given by a sommelier! Alex did a great job of answering all our questions and we had great fun as it was only four of us in the group so it feels very special! The wine cave looks spectacular! And the wines are really good! Thank you Book Me and Gibbston Valley (especially to Alex) for this beautiful experience!

Nice little tour

The winery is on a pretty valley and the tour guide Alex was genuine and passionate about wines. The tasting went as expected. It is a good "slow" activity and we enjoyed the restaurant area later ordering a glass of wine and a very nice cheeseboard.
