Guided Snowshoeing Adventure Incl Lunch - Half Day Tour

Go off the beaten track and explore spectacular New Zealand backcountry away from the crowds and bustle of the ski fields, in the peace and serenity of the alpine wilderness.

If you've never tried snowshoeing before, now is the time to give it a go. Almost anyone can do it with minimal instruction or practice - it allows you to walk across unbroken snow freely without sinking and it enables greater access to the landscapes beyond the ski fields.

Embark on a fascinating guided ascent into the stunning Lake Alta cirque where you will be greeted with a frozen lake, snow caves and majestic views of the surrounding peaks.

The walk is approximately 4km and reaches about 200m, however, it is tailored to the fitness of your group with frequent stops along the way so you can have a rest and enjoy the views of the stunning landscape.

At the top you can explore the fascinating snow caves, fitter groups can go higher into the spectacular mountain ranges, and you even carve your own 'snow chair' to relax in while enjoying a refreshing hot drink followed by a delicious lunch - simply amazing!

Duration: 4 hours on snow (approx.) but please allow 6 hours return to Queenstown.
