Helicopter Flight - You Take The Controls - Wanaka
Who dares, grins. What better way to take a 40 minute scenic flight experience than by flying the chopper with just you and an instructor!
Take control of a high powered two seat helicopter with your flight instructor, and attempt to hover the beast, then to take off to soar skyward with the birds to view the amazing scenery over the Wanaka area, before swooping down to fly low and fast along the Clutha River. As if that's not enough, you then will climb skyward again to then 'cut the gas', and autorotate onto the airfield.
Total duration is 40 minutes (20 minutes flying time and 20 minutes tutorial). Just you and the instructor. No experience necessary!
Wanaka Helicopters have been operating since the mid 90's around the Southern Lakes and Mount Aspiring National Park. A Safety Award Winning company, all pilots are highly experienced flight training pilots

Highlight during travel
Flying with the helicopter was one of my highlights during travelling in New Zealand. But steering the helicopter myself was even better. My flight instructor explained everything and made it so easy that even I could do it.

Unreal
Once in a lifetime experience would do again in a heartbeat the instructor was amazing would recommend to anyone half an hour wasn't long enough I'm hooked!!!

This was without doubt the highlight of my NZ holiday. Flying a helicopter was the ultimate thrill! The team were very professional and I would do it again if I am ever back there

A new experience
Purchased this as a Christmas present for my spoilt 14 year old. He absolutely loved it and as a parent, I felt confident he was in great hands with Peter as his pilot. Highly recommend this experience as a gift and from my son's report - great if you want to do it too!
