Come enjoy the sights, sounds and wildlife of the New Zealand bush at Kiwi Birdlife Park!

New Zealand is home to an amazing array of unique wildlife, the Park allows you to see these animals and learn all about them right in the heart of Queenstown.

We have over 20 species of native wildlife on display, including New Zealand's national icon, the kiwi and our living fossil, the tuatara. Most of the animals held at the park are part of nationally managed breeding programmes for conservation.

Park entry includes a Self-Guided Audio Tour (allow 45min), Kiwi Feeding and Conservation Show. The Conservation Show invites you to get up close and personal with free-flying birds while our team of keepers entertain you with their wealth of knowledge and experience.

The Kiwi Feeding allows you to have an unforgettable experience viewing the kiwi and learning about these fascinating birds from our qualified zoologists. Don't miss the chance to visit our Café and Conservation Shop. Your entry, purchases and donations support our continuing conservation work.

Kiwi Encounter Times:

10am, 12pm, 1:30pm and 4:30pm

Location

  • We are located on Upper Brecon Street, just below the Skyline Gondola. The park is a short 5-10 minute walk from the CBD of Queenstown. Look for our tunnel entrance and follow the path to our main reception building to enter the park.

Staff were amazing and friendly, so great to see a family owned attraction. Greatly informative an awesome place to visit.

Amazing!

Never been so close to a kiwi in my life. Cute little chonkers. Fell in love with a muscular kereru with a tiny head! Highly recommend.

Fantastic family activity

Easy to do with a 3yo, you can see everything easily and the bird show was great! It was 0* and the park gives you hot water bottles and blankets to make sitting for the show comfortable.

Great experience!

Informational and fun. The kiwis are super cute, you can see them in action from very close.! The conservation work the park does is admirable.
