A hidden gem

Have walked past this place many times, but was recommended by a local and was pleasantly surprised. Well informed walk and presentations by the friendly staff. Great being up close with animal's and of course the kiwis. Great cafe also.

Great experience

The park is a great effort to bring back sustainability in native flora & fauna. We especially enjoyed seeing the Kiwi and were surprised how big they are. Our only disappointment was the narrator of the Kiwi exhibit being almost unintelligible, due to accent and ESL.

Amazing little gem in a tourist commercial town

A lovely 2 hours spent with NZsbird life. a little up close show with birds and reptiles and seeing kiwis in a nocturnal habitat is the iceing on the cake. Bees in the glass hive and explanation with tastings a very enjoyable 2 hours spent at the park. Note these photos are from photos on the wall not of the feeding which you will have to keep in your own minds memory.
