Embark on an extraordinary journey through the magnificent Kiwi Park, a 5-acre oasis in the bustling heart of Queenstown.
A family-owned and operated wildlife centre in the heart of Queenstown, dedicated to saving our endangered wildlife species. We have over 20 species of native wildlife, including New Zealand’s national icon, the Kiwi and our living fossil, the Tuatara.
The Kiwi Park is set in beautifully landscaped native bush and is the perfect place for a relaxed break from the hustle and bustle of downtown Queenstown.
By visiting Kiwi Park you are directly supporting our conservation efforts!
Chill out in our cafe and browse our gift shop, where a portion of proceeds go towards our conservation work.
Kiwi Encounter
Enjoy an unforgettable experience viewing Kiwi while learning about these fascinating birds from our professional wildlife team. Our specially designed nocturnal Kiwi House will provide you with the best Kiwi viewing in the country.
Times:
10am, 11am, 12:15pm, 1pm, 2:15pm, 3pm, 4:15 pm & 5pm (Oct- April)
10 am, 11 am, 12.15pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3.45pm & 4.30 pm (May-Sep)
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before Kiwi Encounter, subject to availability.
Maximum occupancy in Kiwi House 50 people.
Kiwi House open at all times outside Kiwi Encounters for viewing.
Conservation Show
Get up close and personal with our most fascinating, endangered wildlife in this entertaining 30-minute free flight show.

An Amazing experience!
Everyone must try this! My son really enjoyed the tour around kiwi park.

Wonderful
Spent 2.5 hours walking around the park. Alll birds are easy to see and are very close to you. Kiwis walk right in front of the glass. The tuatata at the live show was the highlight. The grounds and trees are beautiful I loved the serenity and peacefulness. IIt was Fabulous.

Two kiwis
In the kiwi house, there were only two kiwis. It seems there can be a maximum of three at any one time. The kiwi show was of interest. Children need to be kept quiet, so as not to disturb the birds. No photography permitted at all for same reason. The grounds of the park are confusing. The map provided is not 100% accurate. Worse yet, there are no directional signs, which would be an easy fix. Several other bird species are on display.

You won’t get closer to a Kiwi!
Beautiful park, up close and personal with all the birds and great Kiwi Encouter - lovely family friendly activity that wasn’t too busy. Some of the walking tracks a little steep which was fine for us but might be challenging for others but they are short. Would definitely go again!
