Savour the sense of freedom with the ability to explore Lake Wanaka at your own pace on a kayak or paddle board (SUP). Experience the crystal clear lake water up close as you paddle out into Roy’s Bay, with a stunning mountain backdrop in all directions.

With options of 1, 2 and 3 hour rentals choose your own adventure by hiring one of our kayaks or paddle boards- visit the famous wanaka tree, follow the shores to Eely Point, or go further and adventure out to Ruby Island; pack a picnic, explore the shores and relax on the island.

All hires include a paddle, life jackets, and instructions if needed. Any one of our excellent staff can give you a recommendation on where to paddle that will suit the adventure you’re looking for, your ability levels and weather forecast.

  • Allow approximately 1 hour for the whole experience

  • Wanaka 9305. Look for our trailer on the waterfront across the road from Wanaka i-Site.

Restrictions

  • Double Kayak weight limit 200kgs.

  • This experience welcomes families with children.

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the weather or anything else out of your control) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • All kayak rentals are limited to within Roys Bay, however the area you can explore will vary on your paddling experience and the weather conditions of the day Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian Double kayak weight limit is 230kgs Purchase consecutive session times for longer hire periods ie 11am & 12pm = 2 hour hire.

  • Price is per Double Kayak Hire which is for up to 2 people.

Twin kayak experience

We had a great time visiting the Wānaka tree from the unique angle of the water. Photos taken at the angle of our choice! Staff were great as I accidentally double booked. Refund was sorted, no issue at all. Great experience!
