Awesome

The most amazing way to spend one day in Milford Sound. Never get bored from 7:45am to 7pm. Best tour guide/driver/chef ever, awesome cruise, stunning scenery! I had fun and learned a lot, I couldn't ask for more. Thank you for finding the best way ever to condens all the beauty Milford Sound has to offer in such a limited amount of time. Loved every second of it. You are the best!

Enjoyable way to experience Milford Sound

The coach captain knows the road well and stops at very interesting places along the way. The coach drops us right at the ferry terminal without parking hassles and we are personally escorted to our ferry. The Mitre Peak ferry is a convenient size and small enough to get really close to waterfalls along the fiord. The ferry captain provides lots of information about the Sound and takes us to the entrance where Milford Sound meets the Tasman Sea. A great day out.

Superb tour

Jamie, our Mitre Peak Tour driver, picked us up from our accommodation around 8am in a minibus, there were only 12 of us on this tour - perfect. Jamie gave a running commentary telling us about the areas we were passing through and he stopped off at various points of interest along the way, sometimes not even planned but just because he'd spotted something that he thought would interest us all. We did several short walks to amazing cascading waterfalls, beautiful viewpoints and some very interesting historical sites that we would never have know about unless we'd devoured a bunch of guidebooks! (He also ensured we stopped for comfort breaks!) We got to Milford at 1:30, nicely in time for the 2pm cruise into the Sound. The cruise was on a smaller boat, one of Mitre Peak's own, and only had about 60 people on board so we all had somewhere to sit. The cruise itself was excellent and the captain made sure we got really close to some amazing waterfalls on the 2 hour round trip. Take your own food if needed but there was free tea/coffee on board, plus toilets of course. The journey back to Te Anau also included a couple of stops for even more photo opportunities as the afternoon sun changed the landscape again. Jamie was the perfect host/driver, always careful, always informative and a really nice bloke too. I would not hesitate to recommend Mitre Peak and would certainly do it all again with them if I was back over this way.

Unforgettable experience

The highlight of the tour is more than a two hour cruise. On our way to cruise, the guide stopped every attraction possible. We were able to take brilliant photos and did nice short walks. The cruise ship is spacious, and we were lucky to spot penguins and seals.

Excellent day out

Picked up from our campsite, on small mini bus with a very informative guide. Delicious scones and coffee stop. Greta photo opportunities on the way and stunning 2 hour cruise in Milford sound. Would definitely recommend this trip
