Milford Sound - an experience of a lifetime

Taking a cruise through Milford Sound with Mitre Peak almost made me feel like I was an adventurer, exploring the Sound, as the original sailors, with their interesting stories along with significant geological information. This is a well curated experience - everything is on time, well managed, well staffed. Parking is a challenge as the paid parking which is close fills up quickly and the free car park is about 15-20 min walk, with sand flies for company. I strongly suggest calling this out in communication. We barely made it onto the cruise (5 min to spare) and the good folks manning the dock and the ship ensured we didn't feel hassled. I was last here 11 years ago - it is still as majestic and beautiful. I lucked out with the weather this time.

Milford Sound with Mitre Peak Cruises

We loved the 2 hour boat ride aboard Mitre Peak Cruise. Fact that the boat size is not very big helped it go closer to the waterfalls. We loved the misty experience when the Pilot took the boat up & close to the waterfalls. Would surely recommend this immersive experience to All. Milford Sound boat journey take you into a different world where one feels the force as well as beauty of nature, almost completely untouched by modernity & in its raw form. It felt therapeutic & truly enjoyable both at the same time which 1 can’t help but appreciate the truly beauty & majestic form of nature.
