Amazing experience all around by a knowledgeable and friendly skipper and crew. In probably one of the most beautiful places in earth. Words are useless in describing the stunning beauty of this area.
Mitre Peak Cruises was the best choice to explore Milford Sound. Being a small boat, it is a more unique experience in comparison to the bigger boats. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Very highly recommended.
We did the Milford Sound cruise with Mitre Peak Cruises, and overall, it was a great experience. The scenery is undeniably stunning – dramatic cliffs, towering peaks, and still, reflective waters. Our guide was fantastic: knowledgeable, passionate, and provided lots of valuable insights about the landscape, wildlife, and history of the area, which really enhanced the journey. We were lucky with calm weather, but due to limited recent rainfall, we only saw two waterfalls. Still beautiful, just not as dramatic as during wetter times. One major plus was the smaller boat size and smaller group, which made the cruise feel more personal and peaceful. It was a much better atmosphere compared to the larger, more crowded tour boats we saw out there. That said, while I truly enjoyed the experience, I didn’t find it quite as jaw-dropping as the hype had led me to believe – perhaps expectations were a little too high. Still, if you’re going to do a cruise at Milford Sound, I’d definitely recommend Mitre Peak Cruises for a more intimate, informative, and relaxed way to see this iconic natural wonder.
A cruise with beautiful views. The attentive crew helped explain the route and help us spot various animals (we saw a couple of seals).
