Inquisitive birds and Amazing views

The ride across is relatively cruisey, getting a little rough dependent on weather. The hike up the island is a lot easier than I expected, but if your fitness is lacking I'd make sure you went for a few short hikes before this to ensure you can enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The Weka are wonderfully inquisitive and came right up to us, their piercing red eyes make for some fantastic photos and the views of the lake and surrounding nature-scape were well worth the adventure over to the island.

Lovely cruise/walk combo

Had a perfect day to head out to Mou Waho. Loved the cruise across a serene Lake Wanaka. Saw lots of Weka and other bird life on the island during our informative fairly easy walk up to the lookout for spectacular views. We had time to swim in the lake just below the lookout which was super fun and not as cold as Wanaka itself. Tim and his crew were great to chat with and very knowledgable about the area. All up a relaxing and fun four hours.

A unique experience and lovely day out

Highly recommended! What a special place (a moderate climb up to a lake, on an island, in a lake (Wanaka) on an island South). Tim and MJ were great crew, very knowledgeable. And wonderful views!
