Experience a relaxing cruise on board New Zealand's iconic TSS Earnslaw and gain an insight into high country life with a tour of Walter Peak High Country Farm.
*Please note the TSS Earnslaw will be on survey from 4th - 29th June 2024 - a replacement vessel will be used during this period - thank you*
Your experience begins with a magical cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard the TSS Earnslaw, a vintage steamship launched in 1912 and rich in local pioneering history.
Soak up the spectacular views with a wine or beer from our bar, visit the mini-museum or check out the action in the engine room as we cruise towards Walter Peak.
Upon disembarking, you will be greeted by our rural host who will take you on a fascinating guided tour of this historic farm.
On this interactive farming experience, you'll be able to see a sheep shearing demonstration and watch farm dogs round up sheep from the paddocks.
Visit the holding pens and feed the farm animals before enjoying freshly baked afternoon tea in a delightfully rustic old wool shed.
A unique and interactive experience that will enable you to immerse yourself into rural New Zealand life.

TSS Earnslaw Cruise & Walter Peak Farm Tour was a wonderful experience for our 20-month-old son. The crew on the ship were very professional and helpful and it was amazing to see how a steamship operated. The lunch provided on the farm was delicious and plentiful and the sheep-sharing show was unexpected! The farm tour was very informative and everything was so clean and well looked after. We had an amazing day!
Must get the Farm experience together, its fun
We booked this as another tour guide told us it was awesome and it was. The boat ride over to the farm was nice, we got cold drinks and enjoyed the scenic views. The afternoon tea at the farm was good with sweet and savory food and unlimited coffee, tea and water. As for the farm tour, our guide Ashley was amazing and told us lots of interesting facts. Sadly, there were lots of other people who didn't listen to her and started feeding and touching the animals that were not supposed to be fed or touched multiple times, even after she asked them repeatedly not to do that. It got quite annoying for the other people who really wanted to enjoy the trip. After the tour we got to see a lamb sheering and watched Mist round up some sheep on a hill. It was super interesting and fascinating to see. All in all the trip was nice and we would recommend it!
