Cruising beautiful Lake Wakatipu aboard Queenstown’s iconic steamship - the TSS Earnslaw is undoubtedly one of Queenstown’s must-do activities.
Like stepping into a postcard, you’ll be spellbound by the magic and grandeur of the “Lady of the Lake” as she showcases the best of Queenstown’s stunning scenic beauty.
Take in the breath-taking alpine views from the unique TSS Earnslaw as the leisurely 90 minute cruise takes you across the lake to picturesque Walter Peak High Country Farm and back again.
While underway you can visit the engine room, watch the stokers in action, view the collection of historical photos in the onboard mini museum or sing-along with the ship's pianist. Wine, beer, beverages and snacks can be purchased from the onboard Promenade Café and Bar.
Launched in 1912, the TSS Earnslaw has wowed many thousands of tourists, including many illustrious guests such as Queen Elizabeth and President Bill Clinton to name just a few.

Jean Jacques, Yes, you can view the TSS Earnslaw from the Wharf, but a cruise on this vintage steamship is a must-do for a lot of visitors to Queenstown. Booking a cruise will give you beautiful vistas of Lake Wakatipu and Walter Peak on the other side of the lake; allow you to visit the engine room and an opportunity to learn about the history of this iconic 104 year old "Lady of the Lake". Relaxing cruise around the lake
We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the lake. We saw some beautiful scenery, the commentary was fascinating and you get an opportunity to see the engine room. It was a chilly day and the blankets were much appreciated. A lovely relaxing time.
