Jean Jacques, Yes, you can view the TSS Earnslaw from the Wharf, but a cruise on this vintage steamship is a must-do for a lot of visitors to Queenstown. Booking a cruise will give you beautiful vistas of Lake Wakatipu and Walter Peak on the other side of the lake; allow you to visit the engine room and an opportunity to learn about the history of this iconic 104 year old "Lady of the Lake". We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the lake. We saw some beautiful scenery, the commentary was fascinating and you get an opportunity to see the engine room. It was a chilly day and the blankets were much appreciated. A lovely relaxing time.

This is a must do if in queenstown The scenery is amazing and the history Of the boat & how its made is some real New Zealand history well worth the trip
