Take a guided paddle day tour on the beautiful Lake Wanaka and get a unique perspective on this amazing natural landscape.
This easy guided paddle is thoroughly enjoyed by those who are new to kayaking, by families and those who want to take it fairly easy whilst soaking up the outstanding scenery.
Our local guides will take you through the history of the region while putting you through your paces on the water, teaching you skills and refreshing old ones.
A great day out for all experience levels. If you’ve never kayaked before, don’t worry! Our expert guides will be on hand every step of the way.
With 3-4 hours total paddling there is more than enough time for breaks on the beaches to stretch the legs, and enjoy a locally produced hot lunch with tea and coffee.
Location: Paddle Wanaka are located on the lake front, opposite the corner of Dungarvon & Ardmore streets, Wanaka.
Walk: 15 minute peninsular/island walk (optional)

Tiki tour
It was an awesome way to discover the lake and the surounding area. Defenitly worth the price. Laurie was awesome, he had the right balance of talking/guiding and letting us enjoy the silence.

Tiki Tour 4hrs of Awsomeness
October morning cold but the sun is out. Our start was a little off with some error in the booking info but we got picked up graciously at our accomodation. Austin our guide was so relaxed, friendly, chatty, entertainingly, funny, friendly and everything you want a guide to be. He made sure of our safety, fed us amazing stories and info all the way, involved everyone, fed us amazing brownies (YUM) with tea, real coffee and hot chocolate. For 5 in the group, we had 2 guides, Austin and Sherie who was also lovely, helpful, friendly and cheerful. Well paced tour, not difficult. Suggestion: ▪️Incorporate some group photos and action shots by the guide diring the paddle. ▪️When giving those wonderful and super interesting commentaries, it should be coming from behind or beside the group as sound travels better straight ahead. Sometimes it was difficult to hear the guide because he was facing away from the group and in front... though Austin had a nice loud voice, the lake occassionally swallowed hos voice. Overall, we had an AMAZING time, thank you again. All day tour next time!!!!

Great fun!
The Tiki Tour was great! Our guide Austin was very good: he was friendly and helpful, and ensured the group stayed together. As we paddled around the lake he told us a bit about the area, its legends, and tips about Wanaka. The coffee and homemade brownies provided half way through were very welcome, as it is hard work! The lake was a bit choppy due to wind but we always felt very safe in the kayak (we of course had life jackets on, and were explained how to get out of the kayak skirt safely) I can’t fault the afternoon: it was awesome.

Best Experience in NZ
This was our favorite activity in New Zealand! It was absolutely stunning and a perfect day. Our guide, Charlie, was so sweet and knowledgeable about the area. I would certainly suggest this to anyone visiting Wanaka!

Nice day on the lake
A nice day out on the lake. Guide Joel was knowledgeable and confident in taking our bunch out, even if some had limited experience.
