What’s in store?
You will be picked up from your Te Anau accommodation in our luxury 18 seater Mercedes coach. Sit back and relax with a small tour group, less people means more time to stop at the stunning sights along the Milford Road.
The main stops include Eglinton Valley, Monkey Creek, Homer Tunnel, and The Chasm. Your driver will also stop at some of the hidden gems only a local driver would know about!
As you head over the divide and descend into Milford you will be rewarded with your first sighting of Mitre Peak and the magnificent Milford Sound.
You’ll be dropped at the terminal entrance and invited to join your 2 hour Nature Cruise with Mitre Peak Cruises. Skipping the queues is always a win!
Keeping with the small group theme, Mitre Peak offers an amazing experience on a small vessel and will guarantee not to be overcrowded!
With 2 viewing decks, inside seating and complimentary tea and coffee, you’ll have everything you need to enjoy this fully guided once in a lifetime cruise.
Feeling hungry? Pre-purchase a $19.00 picnic lunch to enjoy onboard as you watch this prehistoric world go by.
Tip of the Day: Live in the moment but have your camera ready for wildlife sightings and quick dips under thunderous waterfalls!

Sehr empfehlenswert
Diese Tagestour lohnt sich sehr. Der Fahrer (Justin) war super und hat uns sehr viel Informationen geben können. Auch die Schiffstour im beeindruckenden Milford Sound war unterhaltsam und wirklich angenehm.

Auch bei Regenwetter ein Erlebnis
Wir wurden morgens pünktlich von unserem enthusiastischen und freundlichen Busfahrer Stephen an unsere Unterkunft abgeholt. Der Minibus von Milford VIP war luxeriös, bequem und nur mit 10 Personen besetzt. Stephen hat uns auf der 2 stündigen Fahrt viel über die Geschichte der Milford Road, die Besiedlung, die Flora und vor allem die Vogelwelt erzählt - verdeutlicht durch ein Tablet mit Bildern und zusätzlichen Informationen das herum gereicht wurde. Gegen 10 Uhr kamen wir in Milford Sound an und sind direkt auf das Schiff gegangen - den Milford Wonderer. Auf dem sehr großen und stolzen Schiff selbst waren mit uns nur 17 Personen und damit viel Platz zum Stehen, sitzen, fotografieren und mehr oder weniger ungestört den Sound zu bewundern. Der livekommentar war zwar zum Teil ein wenig schwierig zu verstehen, aber sehr informativ. Die Fahrt selbst hat 2.5h gedauert und war trotz kurzem Regenschauer sehr beeindruckend. Auf der Rückfahrt mit Stephen haben wir dann noch zahlreiche Zwischenstopp gemacht und sind gegen 15.30 Uhr wieder an unserer Unterkunft angekommen.

Ausgezeichnet
Der Busfahrer war super nett und hat alle Fragen beantwortet und sehr viel interessantes während der Busfahrt erzählt. Wir hatten zahlreiche Fotostops und zwei Stops für einen kleinen Walk. Die Milford Sound Nature Cruise war atemberaubend und die Crew war super nett! Sehr zu empfehlen.

Großartig
Der Trip hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir waren nur eine kleine Gruppe, wurden von unserem Busfahrer John sehr gut und freundlich betreut und konnten auch Wünsche äußern, wo wir gerne anhalten würden. Ich würde wieder buchen

Wonderful ?
Es war ein kleiner Bus und unser Fahrer war richtig nett und hat vieles erklärt. Wir haben auch Pausen gemacht für Fotos und WC. Und es kam nie der Eindruck auf das Zeitdruck bestehen würde, was mir bei solchen Touren immer wichtig ist. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen!
