I went on the jet boat yesterday, I had pre-booked the jet boat a while ago and was phoned less than an hour before the scheduled time to be asked if I could come in half an hour to which it didn’t seem like I could go at the time I had scheduled, as I and my partner were the only person booked at this time. So I went earlier and arrived 20 mins before (I was instructed to arrive 15 mins early) so that I could get a good seat on the jet boat, to which I was just told to ‘hang out’, and then as I waited until the allocated time. Then everyone was gathered to get life jackets to which I was left last despite being there first which meant that I didn’t get the seats I had hoped for. I also had to wait a long time before we actually got going as the boat was cramped full of people and we had to wait whilst the staff got organised with last minute onboarders as well as for the boat to pick us up. I also was not aware that phones could be taken on the jet boat and wasn’t given much instruction at all as to what to bring and leave on the boat just told to put my belongings into a box. I then got on the jet boat to realise the majority of people had their phones and were taking pictures and was gutted that me and my partner had left ours behind as we weren’t told. But I thought that this was all fine because there was a camera on the front of the jet boat and I saw the driver taking several photos with a remote control on the boat so presumed I would get some photos, despite never being told that there was a camera or anything to do with having my picture taken. I then got off the boat after and nothing was mentioned about the photos so I asked if I could purchase the photos or where I could view them etc. I was then told that there has been ‘technical issue’ for the cameras and therefore there are no photos. I was absolutely gutted by this as it seemed this Has been a problem they had being having before and recently, and I wished that they had said before I got on the boat that there were having problems and phones were allowed to take photos. So I therefore have no photos at all of the experience and thought that since the technical issue was known it would have been nice if they had mentioned this or offered to take a photo of us on the boat or something so that we could have a memory of this.
I was also dismayed that not even a thank you was given to us for arriving early even though our allotted time was later in the day. This made us miss out on another activity we had planned and the staff were rather brash about it. The boat itself was good fun but the activity was marred by the poor service from the office staff and lack of information. It all seemed rather rushed and more of a cash cow than an activity designed for the customer experience. I would recommend searching out other providers of which there are lots in the lakes.
