Perfect for families and a must-do for movie fans, we'll provide transport, all entry costs and a bottle of water to keep you refreshed.
We'll depart from Rotorua and your journey will be way more comfortable than Frodo’s in our air-conditioned minibus! Traveling through a stunning part of New Zealand, we first head for the Hobbiton movie set on the outskirts of Matamata.
44 hobbit holes line the hillside, with Bilbo’s famous Bag End home being an obvious highlight. Relive your favourite movie moments as you dance around the Party Tree and walk down Bagshot Row. The shires rest café offers additional sustenance to hungry hobbits and the Green Dragon Inn is just a stone’s throw away.
Once we’ve had our fill of fantasy we’ll set our course for Waitomo to admire the sensational natural wonders found within their caves.
Glow-worms adorn the cave ceilings with a magical glow. The cave formations are incredible and seem somewhat unreal while all the time being completely natural.
Once you're ready we'll head back to Rotorua where our friendly guide will drop you back at the Rotorua i-site.
All up the tour will take about 10 hours but the memories will last all your lifetime.

Absolutely worth it!
We had a fantastic day. Taking the option of a tour worked for us as we didn't have to drive and could enjoy the scenery. Hobbiton was the highlight of our NZ holiday. the Waitomo caves were magical and also a must see. All over a fantastic day out.

Exciting day out!
Our guide, Graham, did a great job! Not only was he fun to be around, he was insightful and took the effort to stop by various places which were not part of the tour package. Hobbiton and Waitomo caves were awesome as well. Highly recommend this tour!

This Tour is one of the bests!
I have been on tours several times and been to these places before. But this tour with our driver operator, Graeme, gave a good view and guidance to every point of interests that we visited. Graeme shared his wealth of knowledge & experience which made it different from most tours that I have had. I bet, you'll enjoy this tour and I highly recommend this one! Thank you Graeme for the nice tour experience. My Mum loved the places!

Very good!
The day started very early but the guide was so nice that made the trip and the whole day really enjoyable. The hobbiton experience was perfect I loved it, the weather was amazing and the guide there was great. The Waitomo caves experience was okay, I mean, the glow worms are amazing, but the group was too big and there are a lot of rules to follow that I saw completely ignored by other groups of tourists. In general all the trip was good, I would reccomend this tour because of the nice driver/guide.

Awesome fun
Great tour of hobiton and Waitamo Caves. Tour guide was ace and wqs very knowledgeable about anything kiwi related on the drive to the sites.
