Hi Randy, Thanks for a great review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your trip on beautiful Lake Taupo to the Maori Rock Carvings. Hope to see you again next time. Safe Travels, All the team at Canoe and Kayak Taupo
Would definitely recommend doing this. Best way to see the lake and Maori rock carvings. Sitting low on the kayak, you can't get any closer to the crystal clear water. Kayaking right up to the face of the rock carvings, again you can't get any closer. Experience is weather dependant but plan ahead with the weather and you should be fine. Kate was our guide and she did an awesome job. Provided great information about the area and carvings. Kia Ora Kate and team.
Hi Jordan, What an awesome review! We are glad to hear you went away loving our beautiful Lake Taupo as much as we do! Our guides are next to non when it comes to knowledge and passion for the local history and culture. We hope to see you again soon! Safe Travels, all the team at Canoe and Kayak Taupo
Laura was our coach and our guide and she was very friendly and helpful the whole time, she made us feel very safe and pleasant. Also, the view during kayaking was very picturisque, I would definitely recommend everyone to give it a go.
We had so much fun on this kayak tour. It was close to the town centre and very easy to get to (just a short walk-the same way as walking to the Taupo Bungy). The staff were excellent and were very helpful in showing us how to kayak more easily. We stopped for breaks every now and again and he had tea and coffee when we had one of our longer breaks! They take photos and they email them to you for free too so you don't need to worry about bringing a camera and the possibility of tipping over. They also offer you a waterproof camera bag if you choose to bring your own camera too! Definitely recommend doing this, rather than a commercial boat ride! Thank you!

Great experience
A great way to get to the Maori rock carving for someone active and adventurous. Definitely will get you sweaty but the whole trip is worth it. You can go for a dip in the lake on your way back. It's refreshing.
