Departing Auckland at 6.20am, relax into your comfortable shuttle as you head out of the city. Arriving at Waitomo, you’ll experience New Zealand’s world famous glowworm cave as you glide silently by boat through the cave system as thousands of magical glowworms sparkle above you.
This is 45 minutes of natural wonder you’ll never forget - a true bucket list item.
Continue on to Otorohanga Kiwi House to see the rare Kiwi Bird and let the keepers tell you all about New Zealand's national bird as well as other natives bird.
Walk through New Zealand's largest free-flight dome aviary and watch the birds being fed. Furthermore, see a unique reptile, the tuatara, a native lizard of New Zealand, which precedes the dinosaurs.
Afterwards travel to the magical land of the Hobbiton Movie Set. Enjoy a fully guided two hour walk through Bilbo Baggins neighborhood as well as a cold drink in the Green Dragon Inn.

Excellent staff to deal with at "Travel Headfirst"
Had a great trip to the Glow-worm and Aranui caves at Waitomo. Dean and Leonie from "Travel Headfirst" were wonderful. Being the face of the company and kinda our tour guides, they spoke at length about the area, and it was absolute pleasure!!

Nice Trip !
I had a really nice Trip from Auckland to the glowworm caves in waitomo. Leonie my driver was very informativ and entertaining ! And of course the caves were amazing! The only bad thing was that I had to wait a lot but still not that bad in good company:)
