Come on board and experience the beauty of a scenic sailing tour to the Māori Rock Carvings, one of the most extraordinary contemporary carvings in the world. Only view-able from the water, the likeness of Ngātoroirangi towers 14-meters above Lake Taupō, surrounded by over 40 smaller carvings.
Escape from hectic life for a while and enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake’s remarkable coastline as you discover the bays and hidden bush. Listen to our experienced skippers and learn about Taupo's history and culture. Give the crew a hand hoisting the sails and take a turn on the wheel or just snuggle under some blankets and enjoy the wide selection of drinks.
Kindred Spirit sails under full sails as much as possible or gently meanders, when it is truly calm, by a quite inboard diesel engine.
Take a dip and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the largest freshwater lake in Australasia. We offer the longest swim stop out of any company on the lake (weather dependent)!
There is a bathroom and changing room facilities on board.

Great experience
Had a great time, the team gave us a drink and pizza, and it was 2 hours of sailing on a beautiful day! 10/10 recommend

Finished booking but no tour
The boat ompany sent me messages that they couldn't run the tour because there's not enough tourists in my selected time slot (3:30pm) . So, it was cancelled and I hope to get the refund soon. It is not a good experience when you already booked the ticket one week ahead and be in that area but no trip guarantee!

But the t&c's on book me clearly state that the trip is subject to minimum numbers, weather and lake conditions - in that way we can never guarantee a trip. But we do guarantee a refund in those cases. Your refund already got requested and will be processed by book me. When we contacted you about the cancelled trip we also offered to reschedule your booking to another time - unfortunately you were not able to take that offer. Awesome experience
Really great skipper, very friendly and experienced, it was a bit choppy the day we went out but it was still an amazing thing to see along with the splendid sailing experience.
