A Rotorua Must Do - Daytime for Nature!

Highlights

  • A stunning walk high amongst the majestic redwood trees – a Rotorua must do!
  • Featuring 700 metres of suspended bridges & living platforms within the 120 year old Redwood forest.

Walk high amongst the majestic redwoods trees. Feel the spirit of Rotorua’s iconic Redwood Forest from above and up close to these 120-year-old gentle giants.

This suspended ecological walk provides a unique bird’s eye perspective of the forest, capturing its picturesque beauty and ambience. From 700 metres long, the one of a kind New Zealand treewalk consists of a series of 27 suspension bridges which traverse between 28 majestic 120-year-old Redwood Trees. From 9 metres to 20 metres above the forest at its peak, the walkway has been specifically designed and constructed to preserve the trees, plants and the surrounding natural environment.

The walkway has been uniquely constructed using a New Zealand-first technologically designed sling, which is suspended from the redwood trees. This ecological walk is perfect as a wet weather activity with the stunning colours of the forest coming to life in the rain.

Enjoy at your own pace with no safety harness or training required and appreciate the peacefulness and spirit of this special forest. Leave feeling inspired, refreshed and rejuvenated!..

Walking among the trees

Staff really friendly and open to answering questions, not that you’d need to ask any with all the information along the walk. Good to have the option to go up higher and was well worth it.

Unique experience

My family enjoyed walking elevated through the Redwoods once we got to be up in the pathways. The line queuing was unpleasant as there is a fast pass line. Our time was in the evening. It is best to book direct rather than a booking website. I dislike the experience of fast pass lines. This option is not available for purchase on e3 rd party booking websites.
