Tick off one of the top things to do in Taupō as you visit some of New Zealand's most extraordinary artworks, the historic Ngātoroirangi Māori Rock Carvings!
Attracting visitors from all around the world, the Māori Rock Carvings are truly unique and only accessible by water, towering 14-metres above Lake Taupō.
You'll travel aboard the Cruise Cat, a stylish vessel that has been built for comfort offering warm booths and spacious viewing platforms that get you right up next to the scenery.
Enjoy live commentary and a hot beverage and muffin on board, and keep the kids entertained with colouring, a treasure hunt, or even driving the boat if the skipper allows. The afternoon cruise also includes a trout fishing demonstration where you'll also learn about various fishing options on Lake Taupō.

FUN, INFORMATIVE AND RELAXING
The staff on this trip were really friendly, along the way snippets of info you didn’t know you needed to know!!! Amazing rock carvings, cool to try and catch some trout in the middle of the lake. Yummy muffins offered along with water, tea and coffee, really relaxing on a beautiful day

Maori Boat trip
A lovely trip with a knowledgeable and entertaining female skipper (can't remember her name!) Free tea and coffee plus wonderful blueberry muffins; they were delicious.

Wonderful trip
Our experience on the Chris Jolly was amazingly beautiful. Was nice learn about Maori culture. Rock craving was breathtaking. Also we enjoyed our cruise ride with some yummy cupcakes and hot drinks. Loved our wonderful trip to Rock Carving. Thank you so much Chris Jolly for the great service provided by your lovely staffs. Really appreciate it 🥰
