Schönes Erlebnis mit etwas Abstrichen
Interessanter Einblick in ein Maoridorf und die Tradition der Maori. Leider kamen Musik und Gesang etwas zu kurz, wir fühlten uns etwas getrieben. Auch das Essen wurde zu schnell abgewickelt, daher fehlte Zeit, Eindrücke und Essen zu geniessen. Trotzdem hat es sich gelohnt, diesen freundlichen, lieben Menschen so hautnah zu begegnen

Nichts für Kulturbanausen
Ein Erlebnis für Groß und Klein, die an der Kultur der Maori interessiert sind. Respektvoller und herzlicher Umgang führen zu einer fröhlichen und gemeinsamen tollen Zeit. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Das war für mich eines der wenigen Highlights in Rotorua. Super Service und Organisation. Alle sind sehr engagiert. Allein die Busfahrt im Kiwibus ist kein langweiliger Shuttle, sondern Unterhaltung pur. Trotz Regen ein gelungener Abend. Leider hatten wir einige Asiaten in der Gruppe, die sich nicht an die „Regeln“ die vorher auf einem Erläuertungsblatt standen, gehalten haben, dies führte etwas zum Fremdschämen. Essen (Hangi) wurde ausreichend aufgefüllt und war lecker. Vielen Dank für diese tollen Einblicke in eine andere Kultur inklusive Haka. Kia Ora

Reine Massenabfertigung
Leider keine Spur von Authentizität und Geist. Wir sind mit 10 Bussen und insgesamt bestimmt über 200 bis 300 Gästen vom Zentrum Rotoruas in ein *fake* Dorf gefahren worden um in sehr gestellter Athmosphäre und in knapp getakteten Zeiten Schauspielern bei den Shows zu zu sehen...Dazu wurde man angehalten und tatsächlich auch persönlich ermahnt, bei diversen Vorführungen nicht zu lächeln, geschweige denn sich kurzzeitig (obwohl schon flüsternd und wispernd) sich zu unterhalten... Es stand in keiner Relation und war leider dementsprechend lächerlich...Man muss trotzdem sagen, dass die Künstler eine tolle Performance zeigten, nur deswegen gibts überhaupt einen Stern! In wie weit diese Artisten tatsächlich Maori Blut in sich tragen, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Bei diesem Massenevent war ein privater Austausch nicht möglich. Alles in allem, sehr amerikanisch, und wir als Deutsche haben uns überfahren gefühlt. Ich hätte gerne den Spirit der Maoris gespürt, aber in diesem Rahmen ist es definitiv nicht möglich und auf dieser Grundlage nicht empfehlenswert. Allerdings gibt es, wie ich im Nachhinein erfahren habe, in Rotorua noch ein kleines Gebiet, in Sichtweite des Geysirs Te Puia, in dem die Maoris tatsächlich noch nach altem Brauch leben. Da zahlt man auch Eintritt, und zwar weniger, und man hat anscheinend genügend Zeit, sich alles anzuschauen und auch persönlich mit den Einheimischen in Kontakt zu kommen und sich auszutauschen. Neuseeland ist unglaublich schön und vielfältig, man kann getrost auf diese Touri Hotspots verzichten und nimmt abseits des Mainstreams viiiiel mehr von diesem tollen Land mit. Meiner Meinung nach! Viel Glück :)
