Start your day adventure stress-free by parking your own car at the end of the track in the designated shuttle pick-up area. From there, enjoy a comfortable 30-minute drive as we transport you from the Ketetahi Carpark on State Highway 46 to the beginning of your hike.

The Crossing is known as the best one-day hike in New Zealand and among the top ten single-day hikes in the world! Located in New Zealand's oldest national park, the hike of 20.2 km (12 mile) will offer you awe-inspiring landscapes including the volcanic peaks of Ngauruhoe (Mt. Doom), Tongariro and Ruapehu.

This one-way shuttle service is designed to let you focus entirely on the breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable experience of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. With reliable transportation in place, you can fully immerse yourself in the journey without worrying about return logistics. You can take as long as you need and take as many photo stops during the hike, as your own car will be awaiting you at the end of the crossing!

Restrictions

  • Minimum age: 8
  • Please do not book children under the age of 8 or infants.The driver has the right to refuse transport to the start of the track


Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the weather or anything else out of your control) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • Please Note: Minimum numbers are required for the shuttle to go ahead. If minimum numbers are not met you will be offered either an alternative date or a full refund.

    Weather Conditions: As much as we endeavour to go every day, your safety is paramount and in the event of adverse weather or a negative DOC crossing advice, the shuttle will be cancelled. You will be offered either an alternative date or a full refund.
