Tongariro Expeditions is the only operator from Taupo that offers multiple and direct services to the mountain in the morning.
We have multiple service times coming home from the mountain in the afternoon giving you less time waiting around for your bus. We also offer hire gear on our early bird service only.
Departure times from Taupo start from 5.30 to avoid the crowds and give you extra time options to hike to the summits. We also run a later bus at 6.30 for fast hikers that want less time on the track.

***Important Information:
Once you booked your ticket you MUST call (073770435) the DAY BEFORE your planned trip to confirm pick up point eg accommodation.
Please note that we do not pick up North of the bridge that comes in to Taupo.
Please be waiting outside on the road side at least ten minutes before the bus is due so that you do not miss the bus. If you miss the bus there is no refund.***

Great efficient service
Tongariro expeditions are ultimate pros. They give you great information on the crossing and even provide free walking poles.

Great deal!
We got a fantastic deal to go with Tongariro Expeditions. Friendliest bus driver in the world which is nice when it's so early in the morning. Really well organised. Picked up and dropped off right outside our hostel door. Couldn't have asked for better really!

Great to know you've got a reliable pick-up
Did the tour solo, so booked with Tongariro Expeditions after reading a review saying they called to make sure someone got back as they hadn't checked them in. It's nice to know you've got a reliable pick-up option and one that will ensure you get back safely, especially if you're going solo.

Very good service, friendly and funny bus drivers! Seemed like they didn't get my registration after the hike and they called me to ask if I was alright. I was already in my hostel so I was but geat to know people are looking after you

We always make sure people leave the track safely when they come with us. Even if they miss the bus. It is important to know that you are all off the mountain safely.
