Departing from Rotorua, experience the Waikato region by mountain bike. Drive through South Waikato farmlands, Kinleith Forest and over the Whakamaru Dam to Mangakino Village along your journey!

Explore the Waikato River Trail that follows New Zealand’s longest river, taking you through native bush, forests, farmlands and across boardwalks, streams and suspension bridges! Mountain bikes are available for hire in Rotorua. Max couple and two bikes.

Choose between a half day or a full day tour and with a maximum of two people per tour, this tour is a perfect small group experience! The half tour offers the Waipapa and Maraetai Sections, with the full tour offering the Waipapa, Maraetai and Whakamaru sections.

If biking isn’t for you, take a more relaxed tour with your choice of walks and cafés. In the summer the Waikato region is perfect for a swim or a picnic lunch, with the stunning river and mountain vistas providing an amazing view.

    Half Day Return Time: 1:30pm (5-hour duration)

    Full Day Return Time: 5:30pm (9-hour duration)

    Note: If you are more than 5km from the Rotorua i-Site (1167 Fenton Street, Rotorua 3007), please arrive outside the Museum in Government Gardens Rotorua for pick up.
