Excellent experience. Amazing to witness what nature has created. The silica terraces are really worth seeing along with the geyser.
Well priced, friendly staff. A Well set up activity, easy access and lots to see.We really enjoyed the Terraces.
My experience at Wairakei Terraces was terrible. I purchased a ticket that clearly stated a 5:00 PM entry time, but when I arrived, I was refused entry because they said they don't allow visitors after 5:00 PM. It was extremely frustrating to pay for a ticket with a specific entry time only to be denied access. The information provided was misleading, and the staff did not offer any reasonable solution. I would not recommend this place due to the poor organization and lack of consideration for customers.
What a great day out! Stopped in Taupo on our way through the north island and were looking for something to do. Did the walk after an amazing dip in the hot pools. Beautiful native bush lined walkway with mezmerising silica formations cascading down off the rocks. Also a steaming geyser to top it off. What's not to love !!
