Waitomo & Rotorua Geothermal Day Tour With Polynesian Spa Ex Auckland Return

Leave the hustle and bustle of Auckland behind and venture on a magical journey through the incredible geothermal regions of Rotorua and Waitomo...

Highlights

  • Embark on a guided tour of the spectacular Waitomo Glowworm Caves
  • Soak up natural minerals and soothe your body at the Polynesian Spa pools (entry included)
  • Learn about Māori culture in New Zealand with a traditional welcome at Te Puia
  • Discover the work of local artists at the Te Puia Arts and Crafts institute
  • Enjoy the fascinating sights of Rotorua geothermal activity at Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley

Embark on a journey to discover some of New Zealand’s natural wonders; leaving the hustle and bustle of Auckland city behind, we head straight to Waitomo Caves from Auckland on this Waitomo and Rotorua day trip.

Once in the cave; glide along an underground river on a boat trip before reaching the Glowworm Grotto; an awe-inspiring sight featuring thousands of glowworms.

Allow your eyesight to readjust as your coach tour heads east to the geothermal and cultural hub of New Zealand; Rotorua. As you experience one of the best spa pools Rotorua has to offer, Polynesian Spa, you'll have the opportunity to switch off and soak up the minerals and the views in these naturally heated pools overlooking Lake Rotorua.

After reaching new levels of relaxation, we head to Te Puia to learn about Māori culture in New Zealand; you’ll be welcomed on to the marae (Māori meeting house) in the traditional way before experiencing a Māori cultural performance. You’ll also have the opportunity to see master woodcarvers and weavers at work at the Māori Arts and Crafts Institute.

To conclude your Waitomo and Rotorua day trip, head to Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley; marvel at the most famous of Rotorua geysers - Pohutu geyser - as well as mud pools, as you experience the famous Rotorua geothermal activity!

After Te Puia, your coach tour will return to Auckland in the evening.

Awesome day tour at great value

I was travelling on a business trip and only had one day to spare whilst in Auckland. Glad to have booked my day tour through BookMe.com which offers a discounted rate as compared to the tour operator website plus polynesian spa thrown in the package! Truly an enjoyable day starting with the complimentary hotel pickup, to the great bites offered along the day trip and definitely the spots covered during the itinerary. Lovely day despite the wet weather.

My rating of the Waitomo etc. tour

Rachel the driver was superb!!!! All places visited were five stars. However I think that visiting 3 places in one trip that driving consumes most of the day is a minus. I suggest to limit the visit to two places so the visitor can spend more time at each.

Great Contents Reasonable Price!

The trip was extra memorable thanks to the best guide(&driver), Racheal. I enjoyed the Polynesian Spa for an hour, and it was very relaxing. Racheal was very knowledgeable, telling all the interesting parts of New Zealand.' The snacks were great and delicious. Couldn't believe this amazing tour is on this reasonable price!

Long trip but well worth it

An early morning start and no hotel pick-up offered as we called only the previous evening with the request for the same. However, coaches leave from bus station in Central Auckland and easy to find. We chose the Polynesan Spa experience as a breakaway. The time was sufficient and the logistics were well handled. Towels/soap were all provided. The backdrop on one side is quite nice. A good option on your Rotorua trip.
