Take the chance to explore the serene majesty of New Zealand’s hidden gem, Doubtful Sound. As the bigger sister to Milford Sound, Doubtful’s inaccessibility makes it the perfect escape from the modern world, transporting you back to an age of silence and birdsong. Surrounded by towering cliff faces that extend up into rolling hills, give yourself the full experience by sleeping right inside the wild nature we are so lucky to call home on-board a luxurious vessel, the Fiordland Navigator. With a three-course dinner included and a decadent breakfast spread, all you need to focus on is enjoying the journey and being lulled to sleep by the sounds of a rushing waterfall and the gentle rock of the cruise on anchor.

This trip includes a twin or double room configuration, the chance to paddle out and kayak in the Sounds, or take part in hooning about on a tender-craft to get right-up close to the towering cliff walls. You will check in at Real Journeys Visitor Centre in Manapouri and take your fist leg of the trip on a cruise for 45-minutes across Lake Manapouri, followed by a coach ride for 45-minutes over the Wilmot Pass before landing in Deep Cove to board your vessel. This will include your return back the next day to your car waiting at Manapouri.

Tick this off your bucket list

From the fantastic commentary from the bus driver / guide Malcolm... to the glorious sights of Doubtful Sound... to the over abundance of delicious food... to the spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious twin cabin... this is one to tick off. Really loved all of it.... even the cold... and it was cold.. ...so take layers of clothes.... and do this trip if you get the chance!!!!
