This trip really was the highlight of our NZ tour so far and we're on week 6 of 7 We had good comms from Joanna (who also turned out to be the pilot) before the trip and finding the office was easy. Her friendly, confident style put us all at ease. It looked like the weather gods weren't on our side so we sef off to White Island, via Whale Island, with the hope that the clouds would clear and we'd also be able to go to see Mt Tarawera too. It wasn't to be, so Joanna spent plenty of time doing arcs of White Island allowing both sides of the plane to get the best possible view. AMAZING 🌋😃 Returning via Ohope finished off a super flight. We were really fortunate to have this opportunity and can highly recommend it. Thanks Joanna 🛩ī¸

A wonderful hour seeing the wildlife with a knowledgeable (geology, history and wildlife), enthusiastic skipper and crew. They spotted the wildlife quickly and were able to direct us to see them. Enough space on the boat for everyone. Binoculars and coats available to borrow. Would love to do it again

Nice easy check-in. Clear, yet fun safety briefing gave confidence. Then we and our packed kayaks were driven to the beach and away we went. 7 hours later, lots of seals seen, lunch on a beach and a swim and it was time to return. We left at high tide and arrived back at low tide so the beach looked very different. Good job there were the tractors to aim for. A really well organised operation, awesome, thank you.

The museum was fascinating, finding out about the people who lived in The Wairoa village. It was well laid out and of a good level of detail. Walking through the buried village really brought home to us the magnitude and impact of the 1886 eruption. The walk itself was lovely and peaceful and flat. At the end of the walk was a choice as to whether to visit the waterfall or not. We were so glad we did as it rounded off our afternoon perfectly. We couldn't do the whole circular route as it was closed but returning via the same route was fine (a lot of steps, the lady at reception will tell you how many). The main waterfall has a drop of 30m so it's really impressive. Finally there was a lookout :) I hope everyone does this tour
