The “Mount” is for those wanting a more private lesson, with groups of 2-4 people. Either build your own group or join an existing one. This class is suitable for both first timers and beginner surfers wanting a refresher course.
Mount Maunganui is a surfer’s haven, a true nature’s playground. Hibiscus Surf School have taught hundreds of people to surf here, from pre-schoolers to the grand age of 74. Their experienced tutors will show you how to break through your barriers and become one with the ocean.
Everything you need is provided - top quality board and full-length wetsuit -so all you need is togs, towel and sun protection.
Beginning with a 20 minute beach theory, you’ll learn about the sea and how to remain safe and aware within it, along with how to find your way around your board, paddle and pop up.
After a beach demo from your instructor you’ll hit the water, where you’ll be propelled into small waves. There’s plenty of fun and feedback to ensure you’re having a good time while you learn how to master the surf!
Price: $95 Per Person (minimum 2 per booking)
