Join the team at Pukaha Mount Bruce for six daily talks and feeding sessions with New Zealand’s best native inhabitants.
With an array of native New Zealand inhabitants and entry to the nocturnal house to view Manukura (the only white Kiwi in captivity worldwide), you’re guaranteed a day of fun wildlife activities.
Residing with Manukura is her mate Turua, a North Island Brown Kiwi. Watch the cheeky Manukura chase Turua around their house as they interact.
Visit the Tuatara and Longfin Eels. Help feed the eels and learn about their long journey to breed.
You can also tour the aviaries which house Hihi (Stitchbird), Kaka (native Parrot), Whio (Blue Duck) and Kakariki (native Parakeet). Kahurangi is a North Island Kokako who has been hand reared and you can hear wolf whistling around the park. Pukaha is also retirement home to Bud and Natural, 2 adult male Takahe.
You can top of your day with a visit to the interactive gallery and Wild Cafe, overlooking the Takahe enclosure. Keep an eye out for cheeky wild Kaka, who love to beg for a bit of lunch!
