Fox Trail - Terminal Face Walk - Fox Glacier Guiding

Join Fox Glacier Guiding for an unforgettable trail through dynamic glacial terrain!

Join Fox Glacier Guiding for an unforgettable trail through dynamic glacial terrain!

This informative and leisurely walk will take you up the Fox Valley over varied terrain to view the dynamic face of the mighty Fox Glacier.

As the ice retreats in this area the walls of the valley are collapsing onto the glacier covering it in moraine which insulates the glacier and slows its current phase of retreat. The Fox River also emerges from the ice here, and it’s possible you might witness an ice collapse.

Your experienced guide will provide a fascinating commentary along the way where you’ll learn all about this amazing glacier and it’s dramatically changeable environment.

This trip is perfect for those who have limited time or do not want to walk on the glacier but still want to experience the magic of New Zealand’s famous Fox Glacier.

Your guide may take you closer to the ice than any unguided walkers - but please note that this is dependent on the dynamic environmental conditions in the valley on any given day.

Not to be missed - this is trip that will be remembered for a lifetime!
