This three hour trek is for experienced riders.

Experience the beauty of New Zealand's Franz Josef Glacier country on horseback. This is horse riding in paradise with a stunning backdrop of mountain ranges and rain-forest. Soak up the magnificent views of the Southern Alps and our highest peaks, and the spectacular glacier, as you trek over lush farmland, glacial moraine and the riverbeds.
Our three hour trek is for the experienced rider who is missing time in the saddle whilst on holiday. The ride takes you through native farmland and over glacial moraine. On clear days the stunning vista East offers close up views of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman, New Zealand's two tallest peaks.
This ride offers a lot of trotting and cantering so not for the beginner.
Take time for a photo whilst on your horse in the incredible river water, with the backdrop of the snowy peaks or New Zealand's West Coast and rain forest framing you.
Our treks provide the personal touch and allow riders to get to know each other and this gives the guides an opportunity to offer riding tips along the way.

great trip
Great service! They pick you up from your hostel if you don't have an own car to come to the horse trecking place. Nice guides and sweet horses. Treck through all kinds of nature, very nice experience! I would do it again! :)

Amazing ride
The horses are incredible and the scenery along the ride is just breathtaking. I had a wonderfull private ride where we could trot and canter through meadows. Enjoy!

A great ride in a beautiful scenery
I really enjoyed myself during this 3 hours horse trek !! It was only my friend and me and the two guides who were nice. We rode in different landscapes : the river, fields and ended in the rainforest where I felt like an explorer. We were able to trot and canter several times and that was what I was looking for. I would recommend !!
