The Ale house has been built into an impressive historic solid brick building, that has stood the test of time on the West Coast.
It needed to be strong too because the Grey River has a mind of its own and occasionally bursts it’s flood bank, sending torrents of the normally well mannered river flooding the Quay and town centre. There have been times when the entire lower bottom floor has been underwater!
Speight's Ale House prides itself on serving high quality ample sized meals and our chef's use the best of the wild and natural West Coast foods that abound on the wild West Coast.
Eggs Benedict- served on an English muffin with hash browns & hollandaise sauce. Choice of bacon or ham.
