Discover the incredible natural beauty of the upper snowfield (neve) of the Tasman Glacier with Mt Cook Glacier Guiding!

Your epic journey begins with your ski plane flight watching in awe as the glacier changes from its rock debris cloak to glistening white ice. Your landing area is at the head of the Haupapa/Tasman glacier at approx. 2200 metres.

Equipped with snowshoes, walking poles, harness and other equipment you’ll be roped up ready for your unforgettable adventure with your professional guide.

You’ll have up to two hours where you will learn about this surreal place, the location where the Haupapa/Tasman glacier is ultimately created and pushes its way 23km down the valley. Here the snowfield is vast and ice towers or seracs can be seen.

Reflect upon your time on the glacier during the return flight back to base which tracks down the eastern side of New Zealand’s highest mountain, Aoraki/Mt Cook and past the stunning Hochstetter icefall.

A truly unforgettable and unique experience in the birthplace of New Zealand’s mountaineering, this will be the highlight of your time in New Zealand…
