Notes

  • FAQ's:

Where do we change? Each site has its own small wooden shelter. Alternatively, we provide private showers/toilets for you to use.

Do you hire swimsuits? Yes, we do have bathing suits available, in a range of sizes for hire and purchase.

What temperature are the hot tubs? When we show you your tub we aim to have the water heated to 38 to 40D Celsius. The temperature is easily adjusted by adding more cold water or opening up the air intake on the fire box to get the fire roaring.

Can we play our music? No, although private, the Hot Tubs are close to each other. Waiho is a quiet place so is not suitable for music. If you want to listen to your own music, please bring your earbuds.

Is it easy to get into the hot tub? To enter the tub you climb up two sturdy steps. There is a solid handrail to hold on to as you climb from the top step, over the edge onto the seat inside the tub.

Can I use the tubs in the rain? Waiho is a magical place in the rain and a wonderful Franz Josef rainy day activity. The shelters keep your possessions dry. Our tubs have an optional large umbrella over them keeping most of the direct rain off.

How long should I allow? Each booking is for one (1) hour. Please do arrive 5 minutes before your booking and we will take you to your site. Once time is up your tub will slowly start to drain.

Is Waiho Hot Tubs suitable for families? Yes, it sure is. Its quite a good family activity. We recommend having the water a bit cooler for little people. Waiho Hot Tubs are a quiet place, so if that does not sound like your family then it might not be the right option. NOTE: Bookings after 5pm are for adults only.

Where is Waiho Hot Tubs located? Waiho Hot Tubs are located towards the North end of Cron Street, Opposite the Department of Conservation Building. Find us at 64B Cron Street, Franz Josef.
