Donna Blinman said... I love conservation and I found it fascinating to learn about how the Kiwi is being conserved, its A very clever process! The staff were lovely, super friendly and helpful and I felt the two kiwis that I saw were relaxed and undisturbed by the presence. One thing I did feel though is prehaps you should make people aware what the hatching season is and how many eggs or chicks are there for the back stage viewing because I think people might be disappointed to pay for the extra tour and then only see half a sleeping chick because everything else has hatched. Which is what happened with me. I didn't mind because I found the whole process so interesting abd i know the money will help the kiwi's but more transparency would have been nice. Finally a note for the cafe, which was great and I loved the hot chips! I would love to see cafes associated with conservation not selling or using disposable cups anymore, I feel its a big contradiction. I would love to see takeaway options only with keep cups (which you sell and maybe you could make a bit cheaper or give the drink free when people buy one). Or you could have china mugs which people can take with them and drop back later which I have seen some places do. I know people want disposable cups but we will never brake the habit while they are available (like plastic bags) and I feel at some point we just have to say no, this is not Ok and we are not doing it anymore.
