Helga Wandel said... The water taxi service for the Queen Charlotte track Ship Cove to Furneaux Lodge is a mini cruise itself with great views of the Marlborough Sounds. The schedule for return water taxi is tough though. We took the water taxi at 9am, we reached Ship Cove at 10:15 and started our hike on the Queen Charlotte track at 10:35. The distance is 17 km, and we really needed to hurry. With just a short lunch break of 30 minutes we reached Furneaux Lodge at 3:35, 25 minutes prior to the departure of the water taxi back to Picton. Would prefer if there were a water taxi at 4:30 or 5 pm.
