My instructor pilot showed me the controls and explained the systems that control the airplane and then it was over to me to taxi along the runway ( harder than you might imagine) and take off over Auckland ( in my case - but other options have you flying to other cities to try out your skills on the different approaches) With the helpful hints and great instruction we did a flyby of our neighbourhood and over the bridge past skytower and out over Rangitoto and the islands of the gulf before turning back towards Auckland airport and my chance to land ( without crashing) A great way to test your skills, book with a friend or two and compare your abilities as a pilot. with all the thrill and no threat to the population I will be back to try my luck at another airport soon.
