  • Knowledgeable and professional guide
  • Hike through native forest and a working farm
  • Learn about traditional Māori practices and conservation of the land
  • Stroll along a beautiful beach and jetty
  • Complimentary lunch, snacks, water and hot drinks

After a scenic drive along the coast from Auckland, we stop in at the beautiful Maraetai Beach with calm waters and a jetty to stroll along - you may even want to dip your toes in before we are on our way.

Arriving at Duder Regional Park, you will have the chance to get up close to some of the farm animals, and in spring, you will get to see the playful lambs and calves. Along our way through the farm, you will learn about their sustainable agricultural practices while enjoying an ocean view and fresh air.

When we get up to Oturia Trig you will be greeted by 360° views over the land and sea. There are over 50 islands that make up the marine park that is the Hauraki Gulf. We will stop here to catch a breath and take some epic photos for your social media!

Continuing on we come to Whakakaiwhara Point and along a narrow track to the end of the peninsula where you learn about how this was once an ancient Māori Pā site. Here is the perfect spot for lunch with a view, shaded by pōhutakawa trees and overlooking the glistening ocean.

After lunch, we head down through the native forest, learning about the plants and birdlife and how the Māori traditionally used these plants for medicinal purposes. This lush forest has been preserved for centuries since the rest of the area was cleared for farming.

Back to the van for a different route back to Auckland city where you can put your feet up for a well-deserved rest! Allow 7-8 hours for the whole experience. Pick up at other locations may be available upon request. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.
