Departing from Auckland, relax on board our luxury coach and enjoy beautiful farmland scenery and interesting commentary as we make our way to Matamata, home of the world famous Hobbiton Movie Set.
Upon arrival at the movie set, your friendly guide will take you on a fascinating tour where you’ll encounter Hobbit holes, the Mill, the Green Dragon Inn and many other structures created for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movie trilogies.
Learn about how this picturesque farm was transformed into Middle-earth and hear some of the behind the scenes secrets before we enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Party Marquee outside the Green Dragon Inn.
Our journey continues as we make our way to the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Explore the vast network of underground caverns on this fully guided 45 minute tour and learn about how these intricate limestone structures were formed over millions of years.
The finale of the trip is a short but enchanting boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto, floating quietly through the darkness as thousands of glowworms twinkle above you.

Too bad not enough time to eat as time is wasted for turn to collect our food. All of us only half way through our lunch, we had to leave. Very disappointing as food is very good. So much is wasted on all the plates and we are still hungry, only 1st plate and have finished. Overall trip is good, pleasant and enjoyable. Lady driver is good and experienced and very thoughtful. Sorry I forgot her name.
