Located on the waterfront of Auckland City at Ĺkahu Bay, Kelly Tarlton's is home to thousands of marine animals including the world's largest Sub-Antarctic penguin colony exhibit, sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, seahorse, turtles and more.
Showcasing over 30 live animal displays and hands-on exhibits there is plenty to learn and see making this a fun day out the whole family will enjoy.
Enjoy amazing views of the majestic King Penguins and be entertained by the playful Gentoo Penguins at the Antarctic Ice Adventure. This is New Zealand's only colony of Sub-Antarctic penguins allowing you the rare opportunity to get up close to these magnificent birds.
Take a stroll through the Shark Tunnel where you will have 4 different shark species swimming above and beside you. This is the first curved aquarium tunnel in the world which has now been replicated in aquariums across the globe.
Your kids will love the hands-on experience at the Tidal Touch Pools and the Amazing Creations room where they can draw their own sea creature and have it come to life on a screen. The indoor playground Shipwreck Shores is a big hit with children providing a safe and fun play experience.

Underwater Adventure
My 2 year old loved it and my older nieces and nephews enjoyed the nostalgia. They missed the scary ride with the whale jumping out, but they enjoyed themselves. All the interactive activities were great too.

It's ok.
It think because I have seen other aquariums in other countries I found this one expensive and pretty basic. I was expecting way more for the price we paid. They should have discount for big families. We are 5 people and it cost us $174 just to entry and inside if you wanted more experience you had to pay extra for fun.

Overpriced
Enjoyed our time there but it is definitely over priced. I also got some hash bites from the cafe and for $6, I got like 8 bites⌠Would be nice to have some more hot items other than what they have! Put some hot chips on the menu, they are so affordable and wouldnât cost visitors $6 for a tiny portion The aquarium was ok, we went for the animal crossing experience and it wasnât anything exciting and the ink pads were either dry or the stamps were warped? I donât know but they werenât stamping properly.
