Nestled along the scenic Hibiscus Coast in Orewa, Semola brings a vibrant, modern twist to contemporary bistro dining. With fresh, modern décor and an adjacent whiskey bar offering rare Scottish, Irish, American, Japanese, Taiwanese, and New Zealand whiskies, the air around the bar hums with anticipation and friendly chatter. The venue’s inviting atmosphere makes it a central go-to for the community—perfect for everything from relaxed dinners to special gatherings.
The menu is a feast for the senses. Guests can start with sharable Focaccia with caramelised onion and feta, or Wood-fired Olives with orange and chilli; move on to mains like rich Bucatini with three-meat bolognese and kale pesto, creamy Risotto with truffle crema, or Peach-smooth Leigh Fish with ginger sauce and cream cheese beignets. Dry-aged steaks, flame-grilled over open fire, deliver a smoky, tender punch. Finish on a sweet note: luscious Gingerbread Crème Brûlée with Mahurangi-honey ice cream or classic Tiramisu layered with Marsala mascarpone.
