Just outside the rural town of Matamata is the Hobbiton Movie Set - a picturesque 1,250 acre farm where scenes from Lord of The Rings and Hobbit movie trilogies were filmed. On your Hobbiton tour, see the original Hobbit Holes and the Party Tree, and hear intriguing behind the scenes stories. After your fill of movie magic, it’ll be time to tuck into a buffet lunch (included) outside the famous Green Dragon Inn.
The adventure continues as we head west to the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Marvel at the incredible network of underground tunnels and caves made from limestone formation as you set off for your Waitomo Caves boat tour into the magical Glowworm Grotto.

Une journée magnifique
C’est une excursion plus que recommendable, les visites sont exceptionnelles. Notre chauffeur, Damian, a été génial, il nous a expliqué de nombreuses choses sur l’histoire et la vie en Nouvelle Zélande. Grace a lui, les trajets, assez longs, sont passé très vite!

J’ai passé une journée exceptionnelle ! La visite de Hobbiton a été au delà de mes espérances. Pendant le temps de la visite, vous êtes transporté dans un autre monde. Notre guide Sarah était très sympathique et nous a appris de nombreux secrets de tournage. Le lunch était délicieux. La visite de Waitomo Caves est très intéressante et ludique. Le clou du spectacle est à la fin lors de la traversée en barque oú l’on peut voir les vers luisants. Je recommande cette excursion les yeux fermés ! Allez y ! Vous ne serez pas déçus

Great Day
Picked up on time from our hotel. Comfortable drive in the coach. Anthony (our driver) was very informative. Hobbitan was excellent. Steve was good and kept the tour moving at a reasonable pace. Meal was excellent. Did not have enough time to enjoy the meal if you wanted to shop. Very little time to shop. Caves were good.

Hobbiton is a magical awesome place, wish we could stay longer there. The lunch was great, the complimentary beer as well (we tried ale and stout, both excellent). They keep the place looking super authentic. Our guide on the bus drive to there gave us various curious details about NZ and the local nature, people, industry, etc., it was really useful. Waitomo cave then was also magnificent magical place, better they dont allow photos inside, as it would ruin the emotion and experience. Lovely place, would recommend it, as well as the whole tour in general!

Très bonne prestation très bien organisée
Nous avons passé une très belle journée! Au départ, nous avons reçu une bouteille d'eau et 2 cookies chacun piur le trajet en bus. Le tour était très bien organisé, le chauffeur de bus très sympathique et nous a expliqué plein de choses sur la culture maorie. La visite de Hobbitton était géniale et le déjeuner excellent! La visite des caves de Waitomo, c'est juste... WOUAH!! Féérique! On se croit dans un autre monde. Au retour, nous avons eu le droit à la projection du film Le Hobbit pendant le trajet en bus. Très bonne organisation, je le recommande vraiment si vous passez par Auckland!
