Waitomo Caves & Rotorua Highlights Full Day Tour Ex Auckland Return

Experience two of New Zealand's most famous natural attractions on a luxury return day tour from Auckland, venturing underground into the magical Waitomo Caves and discovering spectacular geothermal activity and Māori culture in Rotorua.

Departing Auckland in the morning, we leave city life behind and travel south through the small rural townships of the Waikato region to our first attraction; the spectacular Waitomo Glowworm Caves.

These impressive limestone caves are home to weird and wonderful rock formations as well as enchanting glowworms. During your 45-minute tour you’ll explore the caves, ending with a short but unforgettable boat ride through the spectacular Glowworm Grotto.

Your tour continues to Rotorua where you’ll visit several of its top attractions, starting with a visit to the Agrodome for a farm tour. Get up close with some of New Zealand's most famous animals and learn about farming life in New Zealand.

After the Agrodome, visit Te Puia and be treated to a Māori concert. Inside the spectacular marae (meeting house) adorned with the carvings and woven panels of ancestors, you’ll enjoy modern and traditional Māori song and dance performances.

A visit to the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve & Maori Arts and Crafts Institute is also included in your tour. This geothermal hotspot is home to the famous Pohutu geyser, which shoots steam high into the air. See bubbling mud pools and hissing fumaroles, and learn about the history of the area.

Finally, board your coach for the return journey to Auckland, arriving in the evening.

Places - Surreal, Arrangements - Excellent

I wanted to summarize everything in the title nevertheless here it goes. I will start with the booking - Bookme.com saved lot of my money which I could use for shopping at souvenir shops on the tour. I Was looking at best deals for this tour and bookme.com had the best deal. Booking is quite simple and easy. Arrangements - by Grayline were superb. The continuous commentary by driver didnt make me feel I was travelling without any friends. 11/10 for the driver. Places - For people like me who would not come to NZ if it wasnt for Business purpose, the Waitomo caves is a MUST VISIT. The Agrodome, Geysers and Mud Pool are good experiences. The Maori arts show is more of a family attraction.

Excellent, well organized tour

I was very impressed with the quality of the bus and the knowledge of the driver. He relayed much information about the countryside as we drove to our destination. We went to the caves first, then the Agrodome farm, then Rotora. We had a lot of territory to cover, but the tours were well organized. I think it was worth the time and money. I am glad that I did the tour and would do it again.

Perfect for travelers with limited time

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and would definitely do it again. It is a long tour-- the coach bus left at 730am, and it didn't return to Auckland until 8pm--but the coach bus was comfortable, the lunch and snacks were adequate and tasty, and the guide, Jamie, was entertaining and has a phenomenal voice. We didn't have to wait at each of the sites: Waitomo, Agrodome, and Te Puia, and it was so well-organised that I am amazed how much we have accomplished in just 1 day! Thanks bookme for the arrangement and GreatSight for the wonderful tour!!!
