Though we didn't have success in locating whales, the tour operators tried really hard to give us a great experience, and achieved this. We found several small family pods of dusky dolphins and one pod had new babies, estimated 2-3 weeks old. We felt privileged. Also pointed out several albatross species and the unique Hutton's shearwater seabirds. The guide was informative and enthusiastic about nature and the Kaikoura environment.
We should get 80% refund guaranteed because no whales spotted on our tour.
