My negative experience was with the admin staff: I booked this cruise through Trip Advisor and there is no option to select an add on lobster for the dinner through this booking site. I contacted the cruise operator via email and was assured the lobster was added to my booking and instructed to pay in cash for it at the counter at the terminal prior to boarding the cruise. At the counter, I paid for the lobster and the staff member assured that I’ll receive it on board. On board, no lobster for me but, only for the others who had ordered. The lobster being added was not communicated to the necessary individuals and there weren’t enough lobsters on board. There wasn’t one allocated to my name despite our communication.
I had to go their counter 3 times on 3 separate days to finally get a refund. The 2 times I went prior to getting the refund, I was told there wasn’t cash on site because I was either too late or too early. While “Fiji time” is great, it shouldn’t apply to this kind of situation. The person I dealt with was nonchalant. I shouldn’t have to beg for a refund on my holiday for a mistake that was made by the admin cruise members. The least I expected was some urgency. I paid for parking twice just to come and ask for the refund.
Nonetheless, I did get an apology as I emailed the person I initially communicated with about adding the lobster to my cruise. Thanks for that.
I don’t want my experience to dampen anyone’s opinions about this cruise. Just be aware and do your due diligence.
