Was such a great experience for my family. I would visit again as I am sure I missed so much. My children enjoyed it from age 17 years - 10 years everyone happy. successful day. Thank you Weta, One of my children has expressed interest in this field, which I am excited about.

We really enjoyed the tour. The 3 movies (worlds) they had looked really good and we were all a bit bummed to find out they were created for the workshop and won't actually be out in cinemas! Lol. Pretty incredible how much work and detail goes into creating these worlds and characters. One of our fave parts was what I'll call the Butchery. They say those under 11 or pregnant etc should bypass and I definitely agree with that but it was awesome for us (my son is 14)-we got some good frights. Make sure you check out the Cave too if you're a LOTR fan.

Jeff was a GREAT host! Although the weta workshop tour is amazing, having a great host walk/talk you through the experience makes it even more spectacular ! My family and I loved the experience and recommend as a must while in Tamiki Makaurau! Chur 🤙🏾

This was simply an amazing experience. Our guide Will was a very witty and hospitable guy. As a Kiwi I felt immense pride that we have so many talented people living in our country . The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would recommend it to everyone.

We were luckily to win a family voucher to Weta. Being an actor I loved it getting see behind the scenes at the sheer scale (both miniatures & bigitures) . Our 11 yr twins enjoyed the hands on aspect and the digital technology captured their imagination. Dad laughter out loud to all of our tour guides Dad Jokes (thanks Rory). Took tons of photos that look amazing thanks to the theatre lighting. A great 90 mins that flew by!

One of the best days I had in New Zealand. If you're in Auckland for 1 day, this is the place you need to go. Mike is awesome, super helpful and an amazing guy!

The tour last around 6.5 hours including driving time. We went to the karekare beach (stay around 0.5hr), Mercer Bay loop walk (stay around 1hr) and Piha (stay around 3hr). The local tour guide is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It is definitely an unforgettable experience :)

My only regret is not having Gandalf as my guide and leting Gwaihir transport us. Mike, our guide have his own magic tho. We all had time to explore what we wanted and stil did not have to skip or stress any part of the journey. Great company and a perfect size of the group to make the prip feel personal. The chosen spots to exolore are just fantastic, just trust mike to know his spots go there and see for yourself, I am unable to describe such beauty myself

If you are in Auckland for the day and aren’t much of city person (like myself) look no further. For a very fair price you get to go to the wonderful piha area and stop at some great waterfalls. Mike is very knowledgeable about the area, and prefers the trip be like a good group of people getting to know each other while simultaneously becoming one with north western New Zealand.

My Saturday trip on 14th of September was cancelled, but luckily I could do the trip on another day because it was AMAZING! Pick up location was in the very centre of the city, so it was easy to access from the place I was staying and later needed to get. Mike is a friendly and easy-going host, that often checked in with each one of the group to know how everyone is feeling and if all is good. He took us to some really cool places - wonderful waterfalls, nice hikes and amazing views, and as a cherry on top - lovely Piha's beach. Mike was nice to have general chats and he also shared some history stories about New Zealand. As well as great tips on further travels around New Zealand, as he has done it himself and knows the best spots. So - I would highly recommend this trip because: -> great host/driver -> beautiful nature -> reasonable price -> small group and not feeling too touristy

Such an amazing option to escape from the busy city life. We got to see falls, a kauri forest and of course, the beautiful Piha beach. Jo, the operator, is very friendly and positive and makes the activity feel more like a family trip rather than a typical tour. The tour combines an enjoyable amount of hiking and also time to relax at the beach. Definitely recommended for everyone!

It was a very nice trip, with different peoples around the world and Mike explain us a lot of things about Piha and his history. It's a small group tour (we were 7) and you need to see this black sand beach.
