We would recommend this as the first place to visit in Christchurch. We spent about 2 1/2 hours here and loved every minute of it. The highlights for us were the Hagglund ride, meeting the huskies, the snow storm and the 4D movie.

Experience the amazing Blue Penguins and fantastic keepers, a snow storm, ride the most crazy vehicle you will ever enter and so much more. What an awesome and well thought out experience of Antartica life. The behind the scenes Penguin tour is a bargain for the amazing experience and you won't regret it! Recommending to everyone

Antarctic centre is a very special museum that show the knowledge about Antarctic and experience the the antarctic storm,hagglund rides,blue penguins ,and 4D theater. I spend 3 hours to visit most of them. It worth to visit there for once.

I booked my ticket to view International Antarctic Centre at BookMe website. It's easy and cheaper. I showed the Antarctic Centre staff my booking on my mobile phone about 25 minutes earlier than the scheduled ticket time. The staff was polite and happy to help me to go inside the centre a bit early. They processed it and gave me a stamp on my hand for multiple entry that day and wrote down the time for some important experiences on the map. I enjoyed the hagglund ride and 4D movies. Kids all enjoyed penguin feed. Thanks for all friendly staff helping all the visitors. It's FANTASTIC!!

The International Antarctic Centre is such an amazing experience. We started off with a Hagglund ride before making our way through the Antarctic Storm experience, the adorable fairy penguins, 4D theatre, Antarctic Gallery and got close and cuddly with a husky. The entire centre was excellently curated with the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Great experience. We will be back.

The kids had a wild ride and meet the huskies up close and personal, experienced an arctic storm and watched 2 4d movies. The penguin feeding was awesome. All the staff from the front desk right through to the gift shop were super friendly and made the children feel welcome and important guests. Was a wonderful adventure ❄️

Reception was friendly. Lady driving the Hagglund was friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the 4D experience

Great addition to the sightseeing in Christchurch! It's the closest I will ever get to Antarctica without the expense.

It is great for an afternoon activity. The centre sorts you out with times for the 4D extreme, which is great fun, followed by the Snow storm activity, huskies, viewing penguins. This is great to watch when they are being fed. The Penguin handler gives you lots of information about the penguins and why they are at the centre. The best part of the centre is the ride in a Hagglund. The ride lasts around 20 mins, when you are taken over an obstacle course that is similar to what you would be experiencing on the Antarctic. Overall, very informative exhibits and a fun afternoon

Intriguing exposition with heaps of information about World's coldest place. Extensive program with lots of activities for visitors of any age. You can spend a whole day in here! Nice and informed staff!

we had planned this visit the day of our return, we had an internal flight in the evening and it was perfect to occupy this last day, especially since the center is very close to the airport, we went on foot in ten minutes. we enjoyed this visit! the reception is very friendly, we are given a schedule with the activities to do in the first place, the caterpillar ride, the food of little blue penguins, 4D movies ... the walkway was very nice, we laughed and enjoyed. the films are really beautiful, and this is the only time we could see these adorable penguins, we have a lot of explanations about the person who feeds them and it was really a good time. Once the planned activities have been completed, we are free to discover everything we want. we learned a lot of very interesting things about the discovery of this continent, and about all that the scientists have experimented, about the Antarctic fauna, there are many little play games, really a very nice discovery, at the once for adults for children. we spent 4 hours in this center and it was a huge pleasure!

Wow, what a great time we had the Antarctic Centre. Chilled in the windy simulation and the penguins where fantastic. Great educational fun for everyone. The 4D movies are great to get your Happy Feet on in the Antarctic.

The little tour in the Hagglund, the huskies, the storm experience the penguins and all the interest and hands on displays all combin to provide an exceptional experience. Definitely a must do when visiting Christchurch.

It was so much fun learning alot about the Antarctic Centre! As someone who has dreamed to go to Antarctica! This was sure a memorable experience! I hope to come back again one day and feed the penguins!

It was perfect from start to end. Driver was not on time and very informative. Coach extremely comfortable Small and comfortable group on the cruise. Underground observatory was also fascinating Would recommend strongly

Really enjoyed the experiences at the Antarctic Centre - the Hägglund ride was definitely a highlight! I liked the fact that the staff helped plan the visit with timings on the map, which still meant you could enjoy all the displays at your leisure. Recommended trip and 2-3 hours is a good amount of time to see everything and great idea if you're waiting for a flight as there are also lockers to store bags.

Went in to the front desk and was greeted warmly by a lovely staff member who quickly put together an Itinerary for us to make sure we got to see everything! Haglund (spelling?) ride was too cool! Our driver must have been going pretty quick, said my husband who was watching from the other one...great fun! Our wee girl (6) had such a great laugh going the whole time. The Huskies were gorgeous, and penguins were fantastic to watch during feeding. 4D movie is a fantastic addition!!! Big thumbs up guys! We were there over 3 hours and still could have spent more time

Riding in the Hugglund, freezing in a snow storm, watching the 4D movie, feeding the Penguins and cuddling a Husky were all so much fun!

Would have given 6 stars if there are more to choose from. The antarctic center is a must do, it is the highlight of the whole Christchurch experience, amazing facilities and commentaries in the center, a min of 2 hours would be needed to experience the whole center. The center is definitely of international standard, if you haven’t been, then you are definitely missing out. Go now!

Excellent family fun, with a touch of Antarctic adventure. Great value with bookme discount. Penguin feeding was very interesting but overwhelming busy for the poor penguins. The 4d shows were fun. Great to see the huskies but they were well tied down, hoping they get a good run around now and again.

My son enjoyed this. We flew in from Auckland to check out the snow, penguins and the Huskies. We are staying in Sudima Christchurch airport which is right next to the centre so walked over. Trip was worth it! Thank you team at International Antarctic Centre.

Awesome place to visit. The penguin feeding was great to watch and the crew member was very informative and knowledgeable. The Huskies were gorgeous and great to interact with. The 4D film was so cool. The Hagglund ride was super thrilling!! A definite must to experience if you're visiting Christchurch.
